Worship Archive
When I began creating worship songs, the first thing that changed was the way I listened to music. Instead of simply looking for a beautiful melody or a strong lyric, I began asking myself: What do I want to confess to God right now?
My Worship project is therefore more than a music project. Some songs are gratitude, some are fear, and some are prayers to stand up again. I wanted to record not only the finished songs, but also the heart that led me to create them.
My faith was not something that became complete in a single moment. It has been a repeated process of reading, struggling, reflecting, and returning. As I faced worries and uncertainty, I increasingly wanted to bring the words in my heart directly before God.
I began writing down short sentences from Scripture, thoughts from prayer, and hopes for my family. The confession came before the song, and music became a way to preserve that confession.
My process is simple. I start with one sentence that remains in my heart. I clarify what it is trying to say, shape it into a song structure, and then decide on the musical direction.
| Step | What I do | What I check |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Record | Write down a prayer or thought | Is this what I truly want to say? |
| 2. Refine | Select the core confession | Does the song keep its center? |
| 3. Create | Shape melody and arrangement | Does the music fit the emotion? |
| 4. Revise | Review lyrics, structure, vocals and sound | Does meaning come before polish? |
| 5. Archive | Keep the song and process | Will its meaning remain over time? |
AI music tools allowed me to explore musical possibilities quickly. That mattered because I did not begin with a professional studio or a complete production setup.
But I did not simply accept the first result. I listened again and asked whether the lyrics were truly mine and whether the music communicated the intended heart. AI helped me explore possibilities; I still chose, edited, rejected, and finalized.
Writing a lyric sometimes makes me question myself. If I write “do not be afraid,” I have to ask what I am afraid of. If I write “give thanks,” I have to look again at what I have taken for granted.
For that reason, a finished song feels less like a product and more like a page from the diary of that season of my life.
My creative work is not entirely separate from family life. Watching my children grow makes me think about what I should show them as a father.
Some songs therefore carry prayers for my family and hopes that my children will know love and faith before they learn to measure themselves by the world's standards. Before teaching them, I want to learn to live that way myself.
As a creator, it is easy to focus on views, reactions, sound quality, and completion. I am not completely free from that pressure either.
But through this Worship project I learned to value a true confession over a perfect song. Even if a song is not widely heard, its reason for existing can still be meaningful.
Worship Archive is not an album that ends when the last track is finished. I want to keep recording sentences from Scripture, thoughts from prayer, and feelings about family as music.
I also want to return to older songs and hear how I have changed. One reason I keep creating is to leave traces of time.
Heavenly Father,
Today, I come before You again.
Not because I have done everything well,
and not because I understand everything.
I am still far from perfect,
and there are many times when I do not know what is right.
Sometimes I waver,
sometimes I am afraid,
and sometimes I lose confidence in the path I am taking.
Lord, I look to You again.
Because You are the One who called me.
Please keep me from being shaken too easily by the voices of the world.
Rather than worrying about what people say,
help me slowly learn to recognize what You are saying to me.
Before I spend my heart on the people and things of this world,
help me look to You first.
Help me remember that I am walking with You today.
When fear comes, keep me from running away.
When I fall, keep me from giving up where I am.
When I make mistakes, keep me from hating myself too much,
and help me rise again and hold on to Your hand.
Make me honest even in the smallest things,
and when no one notices, help me believe that You are watching over me.
The songs I make, the words I write, and everything I am creating—
let none of it be for my own glory.
Let it become a small way of sharing with the world the heart You have given me.
Please protect the people I love and my family.
Let my children know God's love before they learn to measure themselves by the standards of the world.
Before I try to teach my children anything,
help me first show them what it means to live by faith.
Hold me when I waver, bring me back when I lose my way,
and when I begin walking down the wrong path, help me recognize it.
Until the very end, help me keep walking with my eyes fixed on You.
Let my song become my confession,
and let my confession become my life.
In the name of Jesus, I pray.
Amen.
